
Patrick Sweet is a versatile trombonist and educator based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, currently serving as Second Trombone with the North Carolina Brass Band. Originally from Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, Patrick developed his passion for music early on and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. He recently completed a Master’s in Trombone Performance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he is continuing his studies in the Professional Artist Certificate program under John Ilika.
Patrick has performed with several ensembles across the state, including the North Carolina Symphony, Greensboro Symphony, Piedmont Wind Symphony, and the Ardmore Brass Quintet. His experience spans a wide range of musical styles, from orchestral to chamber to jazz, with past positions in groups like the Ringgold Band and Swing Fever Big Band.
As a soloist and ensemble player, Patrick has been recognized at competitions including the Southeast Trombone Symposium and the Southwest Trombone Conference. He brings a strong foundation in both performance and education to every musical setting and is excited to contribute to the artistry and energy of the North Carolina Brass Band.
