
Stacey Mills holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a winner in the University Orchestra Concerto Competition. While at UNC, Stacey studied with James Ketch. Other teachers include Fred Mende, Renold Schilke, Phil Collins and Vincent Cichowicz. Her career spans forty plus years of experience in secondary education, private studio teaching, and trumpet performance. Stacey’s orchestral experience includes work with the North Carolina Symphony and the Winston-Salem Symphony, and she has been a member of the Salisbury Symphony and the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Currently, she maintains an active performing schedule in the Charlotte area as a free-lance artist and as a member of Brass Charlotte Quintet and Charlotte Festive Brass. Recently retired from full-time teaching, Stacey was on the faculty at Charlotte Country Day School for 29 years, where she taught middle school band and held the distinction of being an O’Herron Teaching Fellow.
