Cassie Swiney is currently a Master of Music candidate and teaching assistant in the percussion area at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She earned her undergraduate degree in Music Education from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. While at Belmont, Cassie was chosen to be a participant in the Tennessee Music Educators Association All-Collegiate Band, and appeared each year in the nationally-televised Christmas at Belmont. She was also secretary for the Belmont chapter of the National Association for Music Education and was nominated for and accepted into the Alpha Chi and Pi Kappa Lambda honor societies.

Cassie has enjoyed her first year at Greensboro. She has performed with both the Greensboro and Winston-Salem Symphonies and participated in local chamber ensembles, including the UNCG Present~Continuous New Music Ensemble and the Gate City Percussion group. She is thankful for the numerous opportunities available in Greensboro for students and professionals of the arts, and looks forward to many more projects in the upcoming year.

Cassie has studied with Dr. Neeraj Mehta, Dr. Christopher Norton, and Mr. Todd Kemp.
