Dr. Justin Worley is an active performer, conductor, and educator currently serving on the faculty at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. As Lecturer of Tuba and Euphonium at UNCG, Dr. Worley teaches lessons, repertoire class, and leads the UNCG TubaBand. As UNCG’s Director of Athletic Bands, Dr. Worley also conducts the Bands of Sparta at events on campus, and across the state of North Carolina. Throughout his career, Dr. Worley has an active interest in electronic music and music-related technologies, and he teaches and oversees courses on those topics at UNCG.
As a performer, Justin is currently a member of the North Carolina Brass Band and can be heard on their debut CD, First in Flight, as well as their most recent release, Christmas Wrapped in Brass. Justin has also performed as a substitute tubist with the Asheville Symphony, Alabama Symphony, LaGrange Symphony (GA), Boston Civic Symphony, and the Wellesley Symphony (MA). Justin was a semi-finalist for the 2013 Leonard Falcone International Tuba-Euphonium Competition and was invited to perform in the live round of the 2013 Lieksa Brass Week Competition in Lieksa, Finland. As a soloist, Justin has recently performed with the UNCG Symphony Orchestra and UNCG University Band.
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Justin received a B.M. from Columbus State (GA) University, M.M. from Boston University, and D.M.A. from the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
