Robert Campbell is the principal horn for the Winston-Salem Symphony Orchestra and the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra. He has been a member of the Charlotte Symphony and NCSA’s International Music Program Orchestra. Bob was soloist and Principal Horn player of the IMP orchestra for their 1985 European tour which took him to Italy and Germany.
As a member of the Matrix Brass Quintet for more than a decade, Bob performed at Lincoln Center and toured Japan.
Bob is on the faculty at High Point University, Gardner-Webb University, and Wake Forest University, where he is a member of the faculty woodwind quintet. He is a founding member of the Winston-Salem Bolton Project Wind Quintet, an experiment to improve student academic achievement through music education. Bob is also a founding member of Carolina Brass, a brass quintet based in Greensboro with recordings on the Summit label.
